Seymour Francis Wilkins, M.D., 87, a dedicated pediatrician who practiced in the Syracuse area for over 40 years, died Friday at Francis House. Dr. Wilkins was of the generation of physicians who made house calls without concern of the time or day and looked upon his patients as his personal extended family. "Dr Sy" was a graduate of Syracuse University and Syracuse University College of Medicine. He was a member of the Onondaga County Medical Society for over 50 years and was a life member of the New Medical Society of the state of New York. Dr. Wilkins served his country during WWII in the medical corps of the U.S. Navy. Survived by his brother, Warren (Roslyn) Wilkins; his nephews, Robert (Carole) Millstein, Joseph Wilkins, Jay Wilkins and Mark (Lauri) Wilkins; his nieces, Paula (Eric) Baerson, Joyce (Daniel) Labowitz and Susan (David) Kirby; and several grandnephews and nieces. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. today at Sisskind Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. today at the funeral chapel, 3175 E. Genesee St. Burial will be in Frumah Packard Cemetery.
