Former Syracuse resident Esther Wechsler Nesbit, 100, died Thursday in Morehead City, N.C. A native of Syracuse, Mrs. Nesbit lived in Morehead City since 1983. Her husband, Louis, a professor at Onondaga Community College, died in 1982. In Syracuse, Mrs. Nesbit was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun and its Sisterhood. She was a volunteer with The Organization for Rehabilitation through Training. She also tutored children and was a volunteer for the Red Cross during World War I. Surviving are a son, Dr. Frederick of Morehead City; a daughter, Godian Van Denbroeck of South Otselic; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Frumah Packard Cemetery, Syracuse, Rabbi Charles S. Sherman and Cantor Emanuel C. Perlman officiating.
