Morton Carmen of 418 Crawford Ave. died Saturday at James Square Nursing Home. For 35 years, Mr. Carmen was president of Whitehouse Furniture and Appliance Co. on North Salina Street before retiring in 1989. He was a member of Temple Society of Concord, Philo-Mt. Sinai Masonic Lodge, the Onondaga Post No. 131 Jewish War Veterans and the Northside Businessmens Association. A veteran of World War II, he served in England as a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Force. Surviving are his wife, Eleanor; two sons, Dr. Jeffrey of Manlius and Terry of Syracuse; a daughter, Rona B. Aniello of Kenmore; two brothers, Irving of Syracuse and Myron of Rancho Mirage, Calif.; a sister, Anne Carmen of Syracuse; and five grandchildren.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Burnbaum Funeral Chapel, Rabbi Sheldon Ezring officiating. Burial will be in Frumah Packard Cemetery.
