Selma Goldsmith Schultz, longtime resident of Syracuse passed away peacefully at Highland House early Monday morning. Born in Syracuse to Philip and Esther Goldsmith on June 12, 1917, she had been a life resident of Syracuse. Selma was an avid reader who often said she traveled through her books. She loved gardening and fashion. Selma had an infectious smile and a gentle loving spirit. She had an overwhelming enthusiasm for life, a boundless love for family and friends, and kindheartedness for everyone she met. She will be missed by her family all the days of their lives. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Robert Schultz, and her grandson, Gregory Dobbertin. She is survived by her loving son, Steven (Donna Kaplan) Schultz; her devoted daughters, Adrianne (Jerry) Dobbertin, and Rosanne (Raymond) McDougall; grandchildren, Randy (Lisa) Beron, Christopher (Penny) Dobbertin, Melissa (Ben) Brazell, Josh Kaplan; great-grandchildren, Nicolas, Megan, Katie, Ryan, Sammy, Luke, Cole, and Parker; several nieces and nephews; and pets, Charlie and Whitey. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 4, at Sisskind Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit with the family immediately prior to the service on Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral chapel, 3175 E. Genesee Street. Burial will be in Frumah Packard Cemetery.
