Rita Kupferberg, 84, died Wednesday evening at Crouse Hospital. Born in Cortland, Rita had been a resident of Syracuse for most of her life. She was a loving mother who devoted her life to raising her daughters and providing a wonderful home for them and her husband in Fayetteville. Rita was an accomplished pianist with a true love of music which she instilled in both of her children. For many years she accompanied at orchestra concerts at Salem Hyde and Lincoln schools where she was affectionately referred to as Grandma. Graveside service will be this afternoon at 2 p.m. in Frumah Packard Cemetery. Survived by her husband, Maxwell Irving Kupferberg; her daughters, Ann Kupferberg, Marcia Kupferberg-Turner and her husband, Al Loxley; and her four-legged granddogs, Daisy, Montana, Sierra, and Molly. Contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
