January 4, 2010 Marilyn Lois Finkelstein Schechter, 85, formerly of Syracuse, NY, Atlantis, FL and most recently, Amherst, NY, died Monday, January 4, 2010. Marilyn was the beloved daughter of the late Eli and Sadye Finkelstein. Mrs. Schechter was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Schechter in 2004. Marilyn was the loving mother of Linda (Alan) Geldin and Richard J. (Julie) Schechter, a devoted grandmother to Stacey (Daniel) Goldsamt and Brian Geldin, and a doting great-grandmother to Eliana, Hayden and Landon Goldsamt. She was a former member of Temple Adath Yeshurun, the Temple Sisterhood, Hadassah, and Drumlins Country Club. Services will be conducted 1 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2010 at the Birnbaum Funeral Chapel, 1909 E. Fayette Street. Friends may visit with the family from noon to 1 p.m. at the chapel on Friday.
