Freida Shapero Scornick, 88, of Syracuse died Saturday at Francis House. A life resident of Syracuse, she retired in 1985 after 36 years with the citys finance department. She was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun, the temples sisterhood and the Corinthian Club. Her husband, Irving, died in 1980. A son, Richard, died in 1988. Survivors: A daughter, Ruth Masel of Mount Laurel, N.J.; a son, E. Jay of DeWitt; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Services: 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel. Burial, Frumah Packard Cemetery.
