Eleanor Steinholtz July 2, 2012 Eleanor Steinholtz, of DeWitt, New York, wife of the late Dr. Lester Steinholtz, died on July 2 at her hom years old. Born in New York City, Ms. Steinholtz graduated from Hunter College with a degree in Economics. At H elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She did graduate work in Economics at Johns Hopkins University and the N Social Research in New York City as well as in Planning at Syracuse University. She began her career as an economist in the Research Department of the Textile Workers Union and f Foremen\'s Institute in New York City. She moved to Syracuse in 1956 when her husband established h practice there and subsequently worked as a research associate at the Le Moyne College Bureau of E Research. She later became a principal in Economic Consultants Organization (ECO), a consulting firm services to public an private sector organizations in finance, management, planning, housing and econ development. In 1975, she was appointed to the New York State Department of State based in Albany. By the time of 1983, she was Director of the Division of Local Government and Community Services; responsible for administration as well as training and technical assistance to New York State\'s 1600 local governments non-profit public service organizations. She served under two Secretaries of State; Mario Cuomo and B Back in Syracuse, Ms. Steinholtz became associated with Environmental Design
