Mrs. Rose (Swidler) Hodes, 76, of 853 Maryland Ave., died Friday at Community General Hospital. A resident of Syracuse, NY for 59 years, she was a member of Congregation Chevra Shaas. She was the widow of Abe Hodes. Surviving are a son, George Hodes of Skokie, IL; four daughters, Mrs. Ida (Henry) Youngerman of Fredonia, Mrs. Leonora (Eli) Kroot of Cornwall, Mrs. Hattie (Harold) Sukert and Mrs. Celia (Sidney) Berkowitz; and 14 grandchildren (Mrs. Andrea Sukert Stoler, Alicia Sukert). Services were yesterday at the Birnbaum Funeral Home. Friends may call at the family home, 853 Maryland Ave., at their convenience. Contributions may be made to the Little City School for Retarded Children, Palatine, IL.
