Albert Garr of 821 E. Brighton Ave., Syracuse, died Thursday. He was born in Syracuse. He retired in 1975 after 60 years as a carpenter with Carpenter\\'s Local 747. He was a member of Onondaga Post 131 Jewish War Veterans, the Italian American Athletic Club, the Syracuse Boys Club Old Boys Association and the Old Newsboys Association. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors: His wife of 55 years, the former Bessie Cohen; a daughter, Ilsa Van Kuren of Syracuse; a son, Elliott of Syracuse; two sisters, Sally Steinberg and Pearl Bogdonoff, both of Delray Beach, Fla.; a brother, Ben Garelick of Miami Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Sunday at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel. Burial, Frumah Packard Cemetery. Calling hours, 10 to 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 1909 E. Fayette St., Syracuse.
