Asher Wagner, 88, a former resident of Utica, and Royal Palm Beach, FL, died at his residence in Rochester, NY on Monday. Mr. Wagner was the owner of Wagner\\\'s Shoe Stores for over 50 years with locations in Utica and Ilion until his retirement in 1979. He was a former member of Temple Beth El in Utica, a member at the Higby Hills Country Club, Knights of Pythias, and the Masonic Order. Survived by his wife, Zelda Wagner; son, Gerald (Christine) Wagner ; daughters, Ellen (Jim Cavagnaro) Wagner and Wendy (Bruce) Masserman; grandchildren, Michael Wagner, Lisa Pappas, Seth and Carey Abelove, Melissa and Dan Cavagnaro, Danny and Dana Masserman; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Irving (Lousie) Wagner. Services will be conducted today, Wednesday, November 21, 2007, 2 p.m. at the Birnbaum Funeral Chapel, 1909 E. Fayette St. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. today at the chapel. Burial will be in Frumah Packard Cemetery.
