Funeral services were held at 1:30 o\\'clock this afternoon at the Congregation B\\'Nai Israel Synagogue for Samuel Schwartz who died Sunday morning at his home. 9 North Park. Rabbi A. Feldbin of Auburn and Rabbi A. Solomon of Rochester conducted the services. Rev. Dr. Ralph A. Philbrook, pastor of St. Luke\\'s Evangelical Church, who was a friend of the deceased and had worked with him on several Occasions in promoting inter-church programs, gave a eulogy. Burial was in Frumah-Packard Cemetery, Syracuse. Officiating at the committal services were Rabbi Feldbin, Rabbi Solomon and Rev. Dr. Braude of Syracuse. Mr Schwartz was prominent in business and civic activities of Auburn. He was born in Russia and for the past 40 years resided in this city. He was president of the Congregation B\\'Nai Israel and a leader in the founding of the congregation\\'s synagogue In Seminary Avenue. Mr Schwartz was president of the Auburn Rag and Metal Company and of the Rochester Scrap Balling Company. He was active In fraternal societies, being a member of the Independent Order of Abraham.
